Bayleigh Minor: From Texas Legend to Longhorn Standout

Few athletes leave high school having already secured a place in Texas track and field history. Bayleigh Minor did exactly that.

Before beginning her freshman season at the University of Texas, the Fort Bend Christian Academy graduate became Texas' all-time leader with 16 TAPPS state championship gold medals, surpassing TTFCA Hall of Famer and fellow Longhorn Ychlindria Spears of Luling.

The jump from high school competition to the SEC is among the sport's greatest challenges, yet Minor wasted little time proving she belonged. She opened her collegiate career by winning the 600-meter race at the Corky Classic before finishing 10th in the 400 at the SEC Outdoor Championships in 51.41 seconds, the highest finish by a freshman in the event.
