Mid State athletes are setting the marks for the rest of Washington. This week\'s big story has got to be Nectaly Barbosa of Prosser.
After a blistering 1:50.98 800 this weekend at Pasco, he also holds the top in the 400 and the 1500. Watch out, this guy has set the bar for track this year.
Kyle Schauble of Kamiakin is also setting his marks across the board, he holds top times in the 110H, 300H, 200 and LJ. Kyle will be facing off Brandon Graef of Skyline this weekend at Bellevue. Both of these guys are burning their way to the top of the game in the 300H. It should be a race to watch!
Kayla McKeiren of Richland is also stepping up with top marks in 400,200 and LJ events for the girls.

OBU Has Dozen Qualifies at OU Meet Press Release Apr 18, 2006

Oklahoma Baptist hit 12 national and five provisional qualifying marks in the John Jacobs Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma Saturday. Eight of the qualifying marks were new opportunities at the national meet. Kyli Bean qualified in the 400 meters, placing fourth in 55.2 seconds and Mai Fukada hit a qualifying mark in the triple jump at 37-5.

Jordan Powell placed seventh in the mile and Tara Collins placed ninth in the 5,000 meters at the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday. Powell ran the mile in 4:16.31, just missing a sixth-place finish and All-America honors. Collins posted a time of 17:55.52 in the 5,000-meter run. Both events were won by freshmen, but Powell and Collins were the only other freshmen to place in the top 10 in each race.
