Kingwood girls celebrate seventh 5A championship By BUTCH HART For The ChronicleROUND ROCK — It was a day that tradition overcame winds and unseasonably warm temperatures for The Woodlands boys and Kingwood girls cross country teams. The Woodlands won its 14th University Interscholastic League Class 5A championship, and Kingwood won its seventh UIL Class 5A title and registered its 17th consecutive top three finish at Old Settlers Park.COMPLETE ARTICLE

Though he had just placed fifth with a time of 15 minutes, 45.7 seconds in the UIL Class 4A state cross country meet at Old Settlers Park, Wilson couldn't take his mind off the future. Sure enough, once she reached the marker indicating that 800 meters remained in the race, Sutherland let her talent finish the deal.
