2019 Islander Splash Meet Information:
1. Dates:
High School races: Saturday 21 September 2019
2. Where:
Islander Cross Country course on the grounds of the
Dugan Track and Soccer Stadium, 700 Nile Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78412
3. Entry:
High Schools enter at: www.directathletics.com
4. Eligibility to run:
Saturday High School races: All high schools are invited. No
clubs or unattached individuals are allowed.
5. Entry limits:
In the Gold Division of the High School races each school is limited to one team of 7 runners. There are no entry limits in any other division for high school, college, middle school or elementary school.
6. High School Divisions:
Any high school may enter athletes in any high school division. The Gold Division is for elite teams regardless of school size. The other division titles are indicative of the size of school competing, however schools may compete in any Division they choose.
7. Entry Fees: (Do not mail entry fees!)
High school entry fees are $15 for each athlete entered. The maximum entry fee for entries for a high school is $250 for girls teams/ $250 for boys teams/ $500 for combined teams school. Once that ceiling of entry fees is reached no further charges will be made.
NOTE: These are entry fees not participation fees. All athletes entered on the date of entry deadline will be charged regardless if they compete or not.
8. Payment of entry fees:
Checks, cash or credit cards may be used to pay entry fees. Checks should be made out to: TAMUCC Cross Country. DO NOT MAIL PAYMENT!!!!
Bring your entry fee to the meet. Check below for packet pick up times.
9. Entry Deadline:
Entry Deadline is Tuesday September 17, 2019 8:00pm. Contact meet director: Shawn.flanagan@tamucc.edu for late entries. A late entry fee of $100 may be added.
10. W-9 Forms:
If your school requires a W-9 to make payment contact the meet Director: shawn.flanagan@tamucc.edu
11. Packet Pick up and Course Inspection:
Packet pickup is located at the front of the Dugan Track Stadium:
2-6pm Friday and as listed on meet schedule. Course inspection is at the same time. Note: Due to an Islander Soccer game the stadium will be closed at 6pm on Friday.
12. Parking: There is no fee for parking.
1. Saturday Parking:
A. Team parking is at the track or tennis court lots for team vans. Buses will drop at the stadium and then continue to main campus and park at the Hammerhead lot, which is located at the second entrance onto campus. Please See Map. A shuttle will take bus drivers to and from Hammerhead and the track stadium lot.
B. Spectator parking will be one of two places depending on the weather:
i. If the weather is dry: parking will be on the grass field areas on NileSt. across from the track stadium and tennis courts.
ii. If the weather is wet so that we are unable to park cars on the grassy fields near the track stadium: Parking will be on the main TAMU-CC campus. There will be shuttle buses to take you from the main campus back to the track area and return.
2. Handicap parking is at the track stadium lot.
13. Admission:
There is no charge for admission
14. Team camps:
Team Camps can be set up on the grass areas adjacent to the track stadium stands. No participants or spectators will be allowed on the track or into the track infield.
15. Awards and Awards Ceremony:
High school races top 25 finishers will get a medal. Top 3
teams will get an award. Medals will be giving out in the finish
chute. Team awards will be handed out at awards stand at
times indicated on meet schedule.
16. T-shirts and concessions:
T-shirts and concessions will be available in the area by the track stadium.
17. Results:
Results will be posted for all races on Saturday on the wall behind the track stadium.
