Boys and Girls
Who Teams: Sundown, Spur, Hartley
When: Saturday, October 29th, 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Why: We only have five district results reported from this region between 1A and 2A. Last year's 1A winner on the guys side was Dustin Dominey from Spur, he will look to take the win again this year. Dominey won the 1A-4A race at this year's McNeil invite as you can see in the video above. He looks strong to reclaim the crown. The guys from Spur should also have a shot at the team title. They finished 3rd last year and only lost two seniors in their top seven to graduation. They will have to get past division rival Afton Patton Springs who beat them by two points at the District meet. The guys from Meadow may also be in the mix having finished 2nd in the Region meet last year and only losing a few guys. The guys from Meadow scored 28 points to win District 6 this year.
In the 1A girls race Spur's Izabelle Smith looks to be the heavy favorite based on times in our database. The junior has run a 12:10 for 3200m which is over :30 seconds faster than the next girls time in our database. Nazareth will look to claim the team title returning everyone from their 2015 Region winning team. 2015 runners up Hartley should also be in the mix again this year.
In 2A action we have a little more results to work with and from the looks of things Sundown is going to dominate again this year just like they did in 2015. Both the guys and the girls teams won their district with a clean sweep scoring 15 points.
