School: Austin Westlake High School
Analysis: Kearney has been a stud since he first suited up for Westlake. In fact, he has qualified for the UIL 6A state cross country meet every year. At McNeil, he posted a fast 15:18.27 and then went on to drop sub 16s for most of his junior season including his fastest 15:37.41 for the 5K distance. In the spring, Kearney qualified for state in the 3200m and dropped a wicked 4:14.69 PR for the 1600m. That shows he definitely has the wheels to compete with the best and make that jump up the elite poll as the state's best.
As a senior, can Kearney come away with the individual awards that have eluded him?
