There is no doubt about it, Vaughan is Mrs. SPC. There isn't an SPC distance event title that she didn't win last year. She won them all from the 800m to the SPC 5K title and she did them with some pretty impressive PRs.
She started the season out with a fast 17:37 at Marcus I Invitational and then kept progressing from there. She PRed at the SPC North Zone Championships with a 17:29.65 before she dropped a 17:58.50 for the SPC state title.
In the post season, Vughan ran another sub 18:00 5K with a 17:30 at the Foot Locker South Regional for 9th place earning a qualifying spot for the Foot Locker Nationals where she had an amazing 11th place finish on the tough Balboa Park course.
Vaughan didn't just dominate SPC, but she unleashed on the entire state. She was second in the 1600m at Texas Relays and the set a PR in the 2K Steeple Chase at the Lovejoy Spring Distance Festival with a 6:56.77 PR. With the rest of her track season producing 2:15.88, 4:53.49, and 10:26.87, look for The SPC star to end her high school season in an amazing fashion.
