Observation 2 - Sharyland vs Sharyland Pioneer Is A+ Entertainment
These girls run against each other a lot and from the season's results, the battle against each other fans on the edge of their seats.
Sharyland (SHS) girls have demonstrated they have the ability to run in a pack as good as anyone in the state and it is effective for them. However, Sharyland Pioneer seems to make adjustments and adapt and hits back with a counter punch of their own.
Both teams make the other continue to raise their game for the next week.
Just yesterday, SHS was doing their pack thing, then mid race, Pioneer began to move and change the race. Heading into the last half mile, it looked like Pioneer had themselves in position to run away with the win, but SHS diverted from the pack style as their #1-2 put on a ferocious kick to place second and third overall. The SHS split was still only 44 seconds.
This battle will continue and a state meet berth might be riding on it when Regionals comes around.
