Adam Mason Gets 2021 Started With Two Elite Performances

Manvel senior Adam Mason is an unsigned senior and that might be for a good reason. He just might be betting on himself.

A lot of seniors didn't get the opportunity to show is improvement last year with the COVID shutdown coming early during the outdoor season. That hasn't stopped Mason; he had impressive runs at the AAU Junior Olympics Games and he is off to a great start to the 2021 season.

Mason ran 1:52.91 at AAU in July and now that it's January, he is still rolling. At the The 757 Showdown! in Virginia Beach, VA, he ran two elite races to show how fit he is. In the 400m, he ran a 48.74 indoor PR and followed that up a day later with a 1:53.03 in the 800m for another PR.

With signing day already passed, Mason is one of the top remaining seniors to not have committed yet. With the way things went this weekend, more top schools are sure to come calling.

Mason competes at the powerhouse Manvel Maverick program and they have several big time meets coming up that will allow Mason to further display his abilitites.

One weekend to look out for will be the March 12, 2020 Generation Park T&F Invitational where will match up against the 2019 UIL 6A 800m state champion Robert Whitmarsh from Brazosport and Summer Creek junior Darius Rainey who ran 1:56 indoors last year.

Mason's Manvel squad will also go heads up against Summer Creek, Fort Bend Marshall, North Shore, and more top teams.

This was a big weekend for Mason, but this may just be the beginning of what's to come.
