This is the last go around for Custer and she probably wants to make the most out of it. It will be a year of change for her and her Stratford teammates, but that could produce big gains. The realignment puts them back in Region III where they will know more about the individuals and teams in that region.
This year will hopefully be a more traditional season compared to her junior season that was affected by Hurricane Harvey.
With a pretty hot finish to the 2017 season, this one could be a big break out for Custer. She finished last season with a 18:10.10 for 15th place at the UIL 6A state meet and then had a big time competitive race at NXR South when she took 11th place overall just missing a NXN qualifying spot.
