Round Rock Boys
As my grandmother would say, there was a lot of raucous made about the boys from Round Rock High School. When you get down to it and look at the running alone, there is plenty of reason to have your eyes on this group.
As with the Champion girls, the Dragons ran one of the earliest races of the weekend and boy did they help set the tone for the weekend. Round Rock ran against some steep competition with teams like SV, Boerne Champion, and McAllen in the race making this an impressive showing. The boys from the Rock won by 19 points over second place SV and showed they have a low stick guy capable of running with just about anyone. Senior Kobe Yepez hasn't been afraid of running from the front and he exhibited it this week leading his team with his TX #9 15:49.40.
Round Rock finished with a 16:45 5K team average and a 1:56 1 - 5 split. This is only the first week of the season and this is an incredibly tough course to run on, so when they let loose on one of the Texas fast track courses, watch out!
