Ranking The Top Ten Individuals And Teams At McNeil

#7

#7

Girls Individual: Aubrey O'Connell is one of Prosper's many young runners who is propelling them back to the top of the state. O'Connell is an outstanding freshman and her 18:12 is indicative of her abilities. From day one, she has shown she is ready for the UIL. This weekend will show just how prepared the "youngstar" is for the big time.

Girls Team: Wakeland senior Nick Hendrix is one of the top seniors this season. Last year, we saw him make it to state both in cross and track. He has a 15:28 SB including a win at the Frisco ISD Invitational. Hendrix is definitely one of the outstanding 5A competitors this year that will be a part of a special race in November. If he runs fearless this weekend, he could get a new PR.

Girls Team: McKinney Boyd is a solid opponent. They are definitely overlooked, but don't discount this mention. They are fairly young, but they are well coached and they run hard. They have a 19:29 team average and if they get their 1:30ish spit in control, then watch out!

Boys Team: The Marcus boys are having a good year. They have improved big time over the last year and part of that is just being a year older and more experienced. McNeil will test their true grit as only the real big dawgs will go home feeling good about what they've done. Marcus runs under 16:30 as a team and their split has been out right ridiculous at times. Their ability to run within 19 seconds of each other as a scoring core gives them a shot at placing high.
