Houston Strake Jesuit and Alief Taylor battled at the 2018 Region 3-6A Boys 4x400 Finals
Numbers don't lie.
Every state wants to say they know how to run the 4x400m relay well. However, historically, it comes down to teams and schools from two states....California and TEXAS.
There are only 35 girls teams to ever run 3:39 and under, with the exception of only seven teams the rest were from the main two states. Of the 35 boys team to ever run 3:10.46, only three teams were not from California or Texas.
Last year, there were three Texas girls teams ranked in the top 5 nationally with #1 Desoto (3:38.59), #2 Duncanville, (3:39.00), and #5 Cypress Springs (3:41.27).
There were four Texas boys teams ranked in the top 5 with #2 DeSoto (3:11.38), #3 Alief Taylor (3:11.52), #4 Houston Strake Jesuit (3:11.91), and #5 Klein Collins (3:12.10).
Find out which girls and boys tams have the top returning 400m runners and could be among this year's top Texas and national relays.
