6A Girls

With only four seniors in the field, the youth and talent in the UIL 6A classification is undeniable. Denton Guyer sophomore Brynn Brown exhibited how fit she is for this season as she dominated the clock from the beginning.

Brown obliterated the state record with a solo effort with splits if 5:00.10 and 5:09.78 to set the new mark and get a state title.

6A Boys

The UIL 6A Boys race went out at a solid pace as they came through the halfway point at 4:35. After that, the race was ON!

Defending state champ Ryan Schoppe took over the pacing duties as he did a year ago and didn't look back. Schoppe, Alex Maier, and Cole Lindhorst made it a three man race as they all helped push the pace to a sub 9:00 race.

Schoppe closed in a whopping 2:02.23 last 800m to net a 8:52.73 PR and a repeat for the state title.
