Kyra Walker - El Paso Coronado
Last year's freshman class out west was extremely impressive. Add Coronado's Walker in the group with the things she was able to accomplish in her first season.
Her first race resulted in a 20:06 5K was a sign of things to come. She continued to run well and gain top 10 finishes all season long until regionals. At the Region of Doom, the toughest regional race in the state she finished 21st overall and still managed to qualify for the state meet with her 18:33.80 3 mile race.
At state, she ran her fourth sub 20 5K of the year. With a SB of 19:10.54 and Coronado's history of developing runners, Walker could return and do even better this year.
