South Texas RGV Boys To Watch This Track Season

Hector Solis - PSJA North

Last year was the coming out party for PSJA North youngster Hector Solis. His sophomore campaign was an impressive display of improvement from his solid freshman year. He started out the season with a 15:46 PR at the Nikki Rowe Tune up.

He went on to run sub 16 minutes in seven of his eight remaining races, including his 34th place finish at the 6A state meet making him one of the state's top sophomore class runners all season long. His track season was just as accomplished. He managed to run PRs in three events before COVID. His 2:05.10 (800m), 4:28.60 (1600m), and 9:38.05 (3200m).

Now an upperclassman, Solis will soon get to make his claim for the top spot in the RGV; however he has bigger goals than just that and it's to become one of the state's top runners.
