The UIL 3A Girls 800m went down to the wire

It was a tight race at the halfway point with Tate Wells from Ponder leading the way. She came through with a time of 1:06.36 after 400m and was followed closely by Mia Pipkin from Spearman.

The finish would see some position chances transpire.Heading down the backstretch the race would become even closer with  Torrye Tyler from Brock eventually powering home to capture the gold with a time of 2:18, Pipkin finished in 2:18.25 for 2nd place and Wells won the bronze with a time of 2:18.29.
