Cedar Hill Blazes A 40.49 To Squeeze A 4x100 Relay Victory

2021 UIL 6A Boys 4x100 Relay

In one of the most highly anticipated races in the state, the 6A Boys turned on the speed. Cedar Hill was in the lead through the first exchange. However, right behind them was Katy Tompkins and Alief Taylor. No team was able to find separation as the race was tight through the next two exchanges.

When the baton reached the anchor leg, it was anyone's race down the final straight away. Tompkins made a move as well as Alief Taylor but Cedar Hill never gave up their lead. As the crowd stood to their feet, the three teams crossed the finish line at an astounding speed. Upon further review, Cedar Hill edged Tompkins and Alief Taylor. Cedar Hill finished with a time of 40.483, while Tompkins followed with a 40.490. Right there with them finishing third was Alief Taylor with a time of 40.50.
