Grapevine senior Walker St. John (5) won the 2020 UIL 5A cross country championship and is one of the top returners heading into the 2021 cross country season

It's almost cross country competition season. Right now, all of the serious runners and teams are getting their base mileage and building their fitness foundation.

After graduating some of the top distance boys in the state, there are some big time runners returning for the 2021 fall season, including some state champions like Walker St. John (Grapevine) and Isaiah Billingsley (Tilden McMullen). Like St. John and Billingsley, there are some other names who will be key runners to watch out for.

Sahil Dodda (Dallas St. Marks), Emmanuel Sgouros (Houston St. John's), Luis Pastor (El Paso Coronado) and Emanuel Galdino (Houston Stratford) are just a couple of runners who were impressive during the 2020 track season but who also were outstanding on the track.
