Watkins is a bona fide grid iron star, but he also has the gas to run extremely fast on the track. In case you're late to the Jelani Watkins party, consider this your introduction.
He has some extremely fast all-conditions times (10.02 and 21.06), but what can't be denied no matter what the weather conditions are is his UIL 6A sixth place finish in the 200m at the state meet as a freshman.
He is already showing out for the 2022 track and field season with his 6.95 and 21.50 runs at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic.
