Kila Rodas Shows Experience is Key In The 3A Girls 800


With just the straightaway left in sight, three athletes kept things intense across the line.

In a race that was compiled by many underclassmen, senior Kila Rodas of Edna showed her experience, crossing the finish line first with a time of 2:19.41. The state champion led the race since the gun went off.

Despite gaining some ground in the final stretch of the race, Sophomore Braylen Lusby of Spearman trailed right behind her, finishing second with a time of 2:19.59.

Four seconds separated the top five finishers in an action packed race. Sophomore Addison Hite of Pilot Point claimed the final spot on the podium in third place with a time of 2:20.08.
