Boys 400m
With a split of just under 25 seconds, the 3A Boys were flying around the curves in what was a competitive race. Darieus Dixon of McGregor led the way at the 200 meter mark.

Boys 200m
After an unquestionable 100m win, Brenen Thompson from Spearman had to be feeling in a golden mood. Now, all that was left to do was defend his 2021 200m championship and he'd be leaving Austin with double gold medals before returning for UT football later in the summer.
He entered with a 21.00 regional time, which was faster than the 21.04 UIL 3A state record, so the crowd was on record racing watch from Spearman.
The footballer with track speed used that determination for motivation based on his turn running. The race was basically in hand like many of Thompson's catches at the wide receiver position.
Freshman Tim Grice from Rockdale gave a valiant effort with his running on the homestretch. He was trying to catch Thompson all of the way down the homestretch. He would finish runner-up to Thompson (20.73) with his 21.26 time. Eli Potts (Brock) was third in 21.61.
