Klein Forest was the favorite coming in after a monster Region 2-6A performance. It earned them a lane five position for the state finals.
Lewisville got a great early start as they made up ground on Duncanville, but Duncanville had Pierre Goree on the second leg and moved back up.
However on third leg it was Klein Forest and Killeen Shoemaker giving chase and making up ground on Duncanville. The Panthers who won the 4x100 relay had the lead coming off the turn on the final leg.
Klein Forest saw a big jolt in the 4x100 relay from Jelani Watkins on fourth leg and they got it again in this relay. He brought Klein Forest into the lead as they finished with a time of 1:23.37. Duncanville finished second in 1:23.90, and Lewisville was third in 1:24.60.
