Taylor Nunez and Ychlindria Spears
Taylor Nunez won four (4) gold medals at the 2022 UIL State TF Championships. She earned Universal-City Randolph 35 of its 86 points on the way to a 3A team championship. Over her entire 2022 campaign, she won 33 medals, 29 of them gold. She set numerous district, area, regional, and state records in the 100, 200, relays, and long jump.
While this sounds like the resume of a veteran upperclassman, Taylor just completed her freshman season. She's a humble phenom who provided thrills aplenty; she, like the rest of us, can't wait to see what she has in store for her sophomore encore.
