Brooke Cerny competes in the long jump at the 2024 TAPPS state meet
To say that the 2024 season for Brooke Cerny was magical would be a grave understatement.
At the 2024 TAPPS State Track & Field Championships, she competed in five events, won three gold medals, and scored 40 points on her way being named the TAPPS 2A Female Athlete of the Meet. Not only did she anchor Shiner St. Paul's run to capture another state title, but she was also recently named the TAPPS 2A Female Athlete of the Year.
A Sam Houston State University signee for both XC & TF, Brooke credits not only her coaches and teammates with her success, but also the culture of a 2A school and having to play multiple sports, in her case XC, Basketball, Track & Field, and Softball.
