Dallas Covenant Boys Race for a 9th-Consecutive TAPPS State XC Title

Sports streaks fascinate us.

Hitting streaks in baseball, for example.

But nothing elicits more conversation than team winning streaks, and Dallas Covenant is on the verge of something truly spectacular - a 9th-consecutive TAPPS State Boy's XC title.

What makes the prospect of a 9th title so intriguing is that of the top 6 returning boys, only one will be a senior this season. With a good freshman class this and/or next year, who knows how long they'll continue.

Under Coach Golden, Dallas Covenant has earned its status alongside Luling (UIL) and Southlake (UIL) and SPC powers like St. Mark's and St. John's for sustained excellence. On October 28th, at Waco's Cottonwood Park, we'll see if the streak continues. We'll also witness the Covenant girl's program, third-place finishers last year, aim toward the top of the podium, as it returns six, four of whom finished in the top 25.
