Sharyland Pioneer thrower Derek Thompson is the big man down in the Rio Grande Valley so far this year. He threw 59-feet and 2-inches to earn a position in last week's POW poll.

From there, he received an insane amount of votes to win the poll. With 18,164 votes submitted for Thompson that represented just over 49 percent of the total vote count.

DeVonte Taylor (Houston Episcopal) had the second most votes with a more than healthy about of 11,149 and Zayden Sharp (Austin Anderson) had the third most votes submitted with 2,886.
