STAT OF THE DAY

9:16.01
That is the time you had to run in the boys 3,200m just to get out of the district. Yes, we are talking the district; neither the area meet nor region, but the district.
It's absurd to think that 13 boys ran under 10-minutes with eight boys under 9:35. Alex Severson (Southlake Carroll) ran 9:20, which would win over 75% of district meets across the state. Here, he finished fifth and will be watching the rest of the championships season.
The JV boys 3,200m results saw times of 9:37 and 9:41.

Justin Stewart (Fort Worth Arlington Heights) - After a solid trip to the state meet in his underclassman seasons, Stewart missed the opportunity to chase a state championship in 2024. This week, he won two district championships with 10.43 and 20.83 runs.
Caden Leonard (Southlake Carroll) - The UIL 6A 2024 state meet runner-up in the 3,200m an 8:54.41 to win the District 4-6A championship. That is a just on the outside of a TX all-time top 10 run to start his state meet qualifying. Leonard is coached by his father Justin Leonard who has coached Southlake Carroll to the past 5 UIL state cross country championships. New Carroll assistant coach Reed Brown (8:50.43) is one of two former Carroll runners (Colby Lowe - 8:44.01 state record) who own one of the top all-timer 3,200m performances ahead of Leonard.
Nia Trammell (Fort Worth Wyatt) - Trammell is headed into the area championships with some momentum. She dropped print wins of 23.65 and 54.45 to win both the 200m and 400m to win at her district meet.
