2025 UIL 3A girls 300-meter hurdles
The 2025 UIL Girls 3A 300-meter hurdles saw freshman Payton Conn of Franklin deliver an impressive and gutsy performance, capturing the gold medal in 43.52 seconds. Coming off a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles earlier in the meet, Conn showed poise and determination in the longer race. She took command early from lane 5, gliding smoothly over each hurdle with remarkable composure for her age. Despite a strong push from veteran Kamryn Motheral of Shallowater in lane 6, Conn held her form beautifully down the stretch. Though fatigue began to set in over the final meters, she never relinquished her lead, crossing the line nearly a full second ahead of the field.
Motheral, a senior with plenty of big-meet experience, secured the silver in 44.30, while Klarrisa Frain of San Antonio Cole claimed the bronze in 44.42. Jayana Coney, another freshman talent from Palestine Westwood, impressed with a fourth-place finish in 45.12, hinting at a bright future. Conn's performance capped a breakout day, marking her as one of the rising stars in Texas high school track and leaving fans eager to see what she'll accomplish in the years to come.
