Dunking a basketball in 8th got him noticed by the track coach who encouraged him to try high jump and long jump. Two years ago, his jumping skills carried him to a 6-8 career best high jump, and this year, he long jumped 24-10 at the TAPPS State Meet, both school records and two of the better marks in the state.
