This race got out fairly fast but the favorite wasn't leading the charge. Carter Blunt bided his time in the pack, waiting until the perfect moment to strike. When the time came, Blunt turned on the jets to cruise to victory over the field. Tuloso-Midway's Ace Castillo gave Blunt a good run finishing 2nd. Only one second behind Castillo was Grapevine's Hayden Murphy . It was an exciting finish watching Castillo and Murphy battle it out all the way to the line. The team from Frisco Wakeland came away with the win scoring 88 points. Their 0:47 1-5 Split was led by Cameron King who finished 12th overall and 7th in the team score. A big surprise was the team from Lovejoy. On paper before the meet they were only expected to finish in the middle of the pack. I have to give these guys credit they really came through with an impressive performance finishing only four points behind Wakeland. Rounding out the podium were the guys from Grapevine who scored 123 points.

By the time the girls race was ready to go off the atmosphere was electric! This was when the crowed really started to reach its peak at Old Settlers Park. As expected Abby Gray ran away with this one from the gun finishing almost 45 seconds ahead of the competition. Gray is looking to run the Nike South Regional, and then Foot Locker South Regional, to try and qualify for NXN and Foot Locker Nationals. Finishing in 2nd and 3rd were Forney's Lauryn Barrientos and Canyon Randall's Karyss Betzen. As expected the team battle came down to a fight between Grapevine and Canyon Randall. This time Grapevine came out on top beating Canyon Randall by 20 points. Grapevine only had a 0:37 1-5 Split. Rounding out the podium spots in 3rd was Prosper with 160 points. Another thing worth noting is teams 3-5 were only separated by 5 points!
