Carl Lewis Preview! How Many U.S. #1's Will Fall This Week?

60m

Samiyah Samuels has run the fastest time so far this year, in this field. The Cy- Springs senior ran 7.58 to tie for TX #1 and U.S. #3. Amber Ivy has the 2nd fastest time run this year at 7.61 which is TX #3 and tied for U.S. #6. Those two girls have the fastest times so far this year but several girls are going to be right on their heels also having run top times in the nation. Sierra Smith (7.73 U.S. #24), and Essance Sample (7.80 U.S. #49). Olivia Esemena and Naomi Taylor will also be two girls to keep an eye on having both run top 30 Texas returning 60m dash times.  

200m

Takyera Roberson has the fastest returning indoor 400m time behind Amber Ivy (who's only racing the 60m dash). Her fastest all conditions 200m time is 23.61 which she ran outdoor to win the Region 3-4A Meet last year. Just last weekend at Texas A&M she ran 25.17 to finish 16th in the prelims.  Finishing just behind Roberson in 17th place was Rachel Hall who ran U.S. #34 25.19. Essance Sample ran TX #10 25.04 last weekend at TAMU Classic and will also look to lower that time this weekend.

400m

Kou Luogon who's running unattached has the fastest seed time at a 54.50. Two other girls Morgan Burks-MaGee and McKenzie Clark have seed times in the 55-56 second range.

60mH 

It's going to be another loaded hurdle race this weekend as some of the state's top returning 60m hurdlers
 are going to be facing off against each other. Kennedy Bailey is the top returner in the race this weekend with the 3rd fastest returning 60mH time of 8.64 which she ran to win this meet last year. Bailey ran the 200m dash last weekend but this will be her first hurdle debut. Milan YoungJavlyn Cameron, and Naomi Taylor will all also be girls to keep any eye on also being top 10 hurdle returns in the state.
