Analysis: Molina is now the top guy at Eastwood this season and what a season it should be. The progress for Molina has been a thing of beauty. Sure, he was on the Eastwood squad that ran all over most teams in Texas and Arizona last year, but things didn't start out as fancy for him. As a freshman, Molina had some not so promising races. He had a 21 and even a 23 minute 5K. In 2015, of all places, he got down to a 17:17 SB at the muddy NXN South Regional course. In 2016, the fun began when the hard work and the Eastwood coaching staff magic saw Molina's development take him down to the low 16s and even 15s for 5K. Molina's 15:59.68 and 15:38.00 on the season have him in our top 20 returners and on our radar for the season. Eastwood also has a good chance to return to state as a team as they come in as the Region1-6A top five returning teams.
With the loss of four seniors from Eastwood's awesome 2016 season, can Molina lead the team as they look to continue to build on their success.
