Analysis: Acosta is a straight up runner! She has been to state meet after state meet in both cross and track. She will be looking to make another UIL 5A state meet and improve on her 2016 fourth place finish. Not that it will be an easy thing to do, but if anyone can do it Acosta can. She comes off a season that also saw her run 17:57.97 at McNeil and 18:02.74 at state for her best true 5K. Acosta has some very good track times that show her versatility, but the key for her will be mileage and strength. The 5A girls race will be a tough and strong race and all competitors will be tested.
With track PRs of 5:03.72 for 1600m and 10:53.54 for 3200m, will Acosta be able to climb up the award stand in Round Rock?
