Analysis: Hageman comes into the 2017 season with a fast 14:58.63 from McNeil Invitational and with a true 5K PR of 15:33.89. Hageman has been on the ball the last two seasons and competing well against some of the best in the state. In 2015, he came away with a fourth place finish at the UIL 6A state meet. Hageman also finished 11th at the NXN South Regional in 2015 narrowly missing out on qualifying individually for NXN. The 2015 season was no fluke, while 2016 did not land him back on the awards stand, it was by far a faster season for him than 2015. Further supporting that notion are Hageman's marks on the track in 2017. He was able to drop a couple of 4:19s and 4:20s until he eventually ended the season with a 4:18.69 PR at the 10th Annual Schrader Mile and a 9:12.68 3200m at Texas Relays.
If Hageman put the work in over the summer look for him to make an impact in the 6A race.
