A pipeline of talented track runners — bound for Texas Tech this fall — runs through Giddings.
The town about 50 miles east of Austin had a pair of big winners at the UIL state track and field meet Saturday at Mike Myers Stadium. Gidding seniors Bill Lawhorn and Michelle Guzman combined for five medals — one gold, three silvers and a bronze. MORE OF AUSTIN STATESMAN ARTICLE
