MVP of the girls mile? DEVIN CLARK! The entire field was looking around, not wanting to take the lead, and the only reason they came close to 4:40 was because of Clark. She set the pace for the 1st 3 laps, with no one else wanting to share the work. The pace would've skyrocketed if it wasn't for the fantastic effort put in by the Smithson Valley distance star.
Into the bell lap, the other girls began to make their moves. Clark was unable to hang on to the leaders in the final 300m, but she still ran a Mile PR of 4:44, and deserves a lot of respect for controlling the race and doing ALL the work through the 1st 3 laps!
