Grapevine

The Grapevine Boys swept their district meet scoring a perfect 15 points! All of their top five were under 17:15 for 5k and all seven placed in the top ten. They are going to be the team to beat in this region, having an experienced group of runners, several who ran at the state meet last year.

Canyon
The team from Canyon has been led by senior Treat Allison and junior Dylan Knight all year. At districts, they went 1-2 running just under 17:00. As a team, Canyon had all seven in the top 11. They ran the Lubbock course earlier this year at the Lubbock ISD Invitational and dominated the competition scoring 41 points. If they can perform the same way they did at that meet they will have a chance to pull off the win.

Fort Worth Arlington Heights
Fort Worth Arlington Heights has an experienced leader in senior Ivan Hernandez. Hernandez ran at last years state meet placing 29th. At districts the guys took the meet scoring 23 points with an average 1-5 split of 16:59.

Individual Race
In the individual race, it's is going to be a battle between Grapevine's Hayden Murphy and Lubbock High's Jacob Brownfield. Another team to watch will be Burleson Centennial they won the district 8-5A meet lead by a solid pack of 3 seniors Stephen Southall, Edwin Tobias, and Michael Gonzales all who have run sub 17 this year.
