Moving on up to the longer distances, we saw the nation's best miler take on another event. Reed Brown took on the challenge to become one of the few high schoolers to run under 4:00 in the mile and under 1:50 in the 800m. Brown wasn't quite able to get under 1:50, but he still ran an impressive and speedy 1:51.01, just missing 1:50 something by the slightest of margins. What has been a heck of a season for Brown has ended in amazing fashion. No doubt one of the best distance runners in Texas high school history, Brown will no doubt continue to amaze in his running career at the collegiate level as he has proved nothing is out of the question with his ability and range.

Also in that boys 800m race was CADE BETHMANN. Bethmann, who surprised many with his 3200m win at Jesuit-Sheaner earlier in the season with a personal best 9:09.26, showed in that race why he is one of the nations best. More known for his 800m and 1600m prowess, Bethmann got his Brooks PR ticket for his race, the 800m. Bethmann dropped a 1:51.97, well off of his 1:50.50 personal best. Nonetheless, still an impressive showing for the Ole Miss commit who is another one of Texas' best distance runners over the past several years.

Speaking of Texas' best distance runners, Ashton Endsley took her talents to Washington state to battle the top milers. Endsley came out of the meet with what the purpose of the meet is and that is to PR. She got a shiny 4:53.24 personal best in the mile.

In the girls two mile, freshman and Texas UIL state record holder London Culbreath dropped her personal best from 10:13.68 to 10:04.73. While being only a youngster, Culbreath has already accomplished so much in her first season of high school. Taking third at Brooks PR among the best the nation has to offer, Culbreath has to have a boat load of confidence going into her sophomore year.

Another one of Texas best distance runners, Julia Heymch also challenged the Brooks PR field in the 800m. Heymach has several top 800m times. She went to Brooks with a 2:07.86 seasons best, however her 2:05.64 mad her one of the top runners in the 800m field.
