Faces and Names To Watch For Next Track Season

The next group of ladies are advocates for their event. These are the next group of elite 800m runners for the state of Texas. Of the group, success has already been achieved and at the same time has yet to be attained. The three ladies placed third, fourth, and fifth at the 6A state meet this season and they were all either freshmen or sophomores.

Junior to be ISABEL VAN CAMP helped her team cross country team win a state title and then she takes third in the open 800m at the 6A state meet. Van Camp dropper her PR all of the way down to 2:10.25 to take the bronze at State.

JENNELLE JAEGER-DARAKJY of El Paso Coronado is another special 800m runner. Jaeger who just finished her sophomore season made a quality run during the championship season placing fourth right behind Van Camp. After state, she decided to continue her running by competing at the Great Southwest and New Balance Nationals Outdoors. At the Great Southwest, Jeager ran 56.65, 2:15.26, and a couple of relay for Team Texas.

In what was just her freshman season, Cy Spring's WONDERS OGUEJIOFOR hit the high school scene in a big way. Oguejiofor started the season off running 2:22s, which is good for a freshman, but she was just getting started. Oguejiofor qualified for the 6A state meet where she got her 2:13.40 PR. Oguejiofor will have three more years to wreck havoc on the state of Texas.
