Analysis: Smith will be looking to make his fourth straight trip to the UIL 6A state cross country season. That isn't the easiest thing to accomplish, but he won't be satisfied just making it, he should be looking to medal. With finishes of 86, 90, 29 Smith definitely has the opportunity of cracking the top 10. His fastest race has been his 2015 McNeil race where he went 15:21.30, but his fastest true 5K was last year's state meet with his 15:46.63. Minus the mud slide at state in 2015, Smith has shown that he runs well at Old Settler's Park and that could bode well for him come November. Throughout the seasons, Smith has been tested by the Region 4 runners at various meets and should experienced enough come November.
Can Smith put things together at the right time to be one of 6A's top guys?
