Analysis: Mcphail moved from the Austin area to Amarillo a few years ago. Since then, he has been a legitimate stud and one of the top cross guys over the years. This season will be his senior year and he will look to capitalize on last season's individual success. Mcphail comes into the 2017 season with a speedy 15:03.66 from the McNeil Invitational, a 15:06.90 PR, and an eighth place finish at the state meet. Mcphail brings good speed to the table and he put it on display last indoor season. He went 1:57.30 in the 800m and he dropped a 4:23.92 one mile. Outdoors, he then went 1:58.12 for 800m and 4:20.83 for 1600m. Hard work has never been an issue for Mcphail, but we'll see if he put in enough work and mileage in during the off season to climb further up the awards stand at state?
