BANDERA (4A Girls)
The ladies at Bandera are looking for their fourth straight 4A state title. They only lost one of their top seven runners from last year's title team. Confidence is something Bandera doesn't lack. They have faith in their work ethic and their coaching that they will be ready for a title defense. They won last year's state meet by forty points over second place Kaufman.
It is highly possible Bandera takes home another title. Their challenge should come from Kaufman, Glen Rose, and Austin Royals.
SAN ELIZARIO (4A Boys)
Four is the magic number for 4A. The San Elizario boys are going for their fourth straight 4A boys title as well. This may be the best race of the 2017 state meet. San Elizario has been the team to beat for a while and this season looks to be the same story. However, if they have a hiccup, there are plenty of 4A teams looking to take the title.
The fourth consecutive title should be going back to the west side if San Elizario does what they are capable of doing.
