What To Watch For At Region 4 In Every Class

Region 4-2A

The San Saba girls have been in control of the region for the last several years. Last season, they weren't even at full strength and still won the region and finished second overall at the state meet.

The aspirations are high for 2018 and you better believe they are gunning for a state championship. Harper looked good at their district meet and will pose a challenge for San Saba making the Lady Dillos have to come with it if they want to win another Region 4 title.

Milano senior Parker Jones has got to be the clear favorite. He won the regional title last year on his way to a fourth place finish at state. He followed that up with a state title on the track in the 1600m. So, far this year, he has only dropped a 15:50.10 PR and looks to be clashing with the 2A powers especially two time 2A state champion Steven Quintanilla.

However, behind Jones, it looks like it may be all Great Hearts Monte Vista from San Antonio. They dominated the race last year by only scoring 44 points and a 18:03 team average. They could demolish those stats this year by cutting the point total in half and run almost two minutes faster overall. Yeah, the team win should go to GHMV unless three of their runners get abducted mid race by aliens.
