West Texas Star Athletes Set To Compete At State

Omajuwa Etiwe blazes to a State first ranking at the Region 1-6A Meet in Arlington, TX.

In the 6A Division we had 4 State qualifiers who are also some of the best to come out of the running scene down here in El Paso.  Levesque has been well known around the Hurdling and Vaulting scene so it's no surprise to see him qualify to state in both events. Levesque has always seemed to be determined to really make his mark in the pole vaulting scene and sitting at 3rd in the state and 19th in the nation it would seem he's ready to prove he can crack top 2 at state to claim his medal.

The other two incredible stories coming out of regionals was first that of one of the states very best female 800m runners. Jennelle gritted out a 2:12.73 at the 2018 UIL State Meet and this year she plans to claim her throne as she has already set an incredible PR for herself when she took first at Regionals with a 4 second difference. Sitting at 2nd in the state and 9th in the nation, first place is within her grasp.

The real gem out of this group is the wicked fast Omajuwa Etiwe from El Paso Franklin. He's been beating his own records all season long and when it came time to prove he's as consistent as the rest, he claimed the top spot in the State with an incredible time of 46.95 in the 400m. He's shown to be a strong competitor and will definitely give the crowds of Austin, TX a good show.
