JV boys compete at the 2019 Marcus I JV race
The varsity races aren't the only ones with excitement. Yes, they are faster, bigger, and stronger than their usual older peers, but that doesn't always add up to the best running in distance running.
We have some of the best sub varsity races throughout the state wrapped up right here for you. Sub varsity runners, stay on your grind because MileSplit is watching!!!
JV Girls RGV Classic
The future of the RGV girls distance runners were on display. McAllen's Sabrina Garza won the 2 mile race.
Marcus I JV Boys
These JV boys could be varsity runners on some teams. These races are every bit as exciting as the varsity ones. Southlake Carroll showed how they stay on top every year. The future continues to look bright for them.
Seven Lakes JV Girls
The top two finishes in this race were defined pretty early into the race, but the rest of the places were going to be decided by a fight to the finish.
These girls put on some big time kicks to get to the finish line.
Marcus I JV Girls
Just like with the girls in the Marcus I boys JV race a lot of these girls could run on a lot of varsity teams. Grapevine freshman Kylie Himes won the race with a 20.20.20 time and she was followed by two other girls to go sub 21.
Seven Lakes JV Boys
The Seven Lakes boys dominated the varsity race. Well, they continued that in the JV boys race. Like the varsity boys, the JV boys went 1, 2, 3 and then sewed up the race win with 5th and 11th place finishes.
