Meet Preview: Breakdown And Projections of Region 4

6A Girls

This race should easily go to Smithson Valley. They have three girls who will score single digits to lead their charge. SV is young but they show no signs of inexperience, they will smoothly run their way top Round Rock. Not to be too far behind will be NB Canyon. They are a solid team as well and there shouldn't be much to keep them out of a qualifying spot.

Girls Team Predictions:

1. Smithson Valley

2. New Braunfels Canyon

3. Austin Lake Travis

4. Austin West Lake

The SV girls could easily go 1, 2, 3 with Sara Scott, Sophia Perez, and Amalie Mills. Kennady Fontenot could be one person to break the top three spot sweep for SV. Other key runners with potential for a win are Amity Ebarb, Abigail Parra, and Ozlynn Urias.

6A Boys

Region 4A always seems to have upsets happen. For Smithson Valley not to make it out would be a huge upset. SV has been running well all season long and could be regional champs under new head man in charge Coach Hall.

San Antonio Johnson is having a great 2019 as well, they will give SV a real challenge.

Boys Team Predictions:

1. Smithson Valley

2. San Antonio Johnson

3. La Joya Juarez-Lincoln

4. McAllen

The individual race will be a dandy! Victor Zuniga has been rolling all year long and Monday will be no different. We saw Jeremey Nino and Ramsey Moreno break out at the RGVCCCA Meet of Champions. They are for real and this race could be a huge momentum builder heading into the state meet.

But, wait, there is more. Hunter Herrera, Hector Solis, and Jose Calvillo are legit as well and will be in the mix for a regional title as well.
