Watch out for Cedar Park senior Bennett Woolsey in 2020. Last season, the dude was on fire from the beginning of cross all of the way up to the COVID shut down track season.
He started with the fastest time of his life at the tough Region III Cross Country Preview course when he went 16:56.90. He continued to roll and was consistent all season long staying in the mid 16s for the most part of the season including a 16:06.20 at the UIL 5A - District 17 meet. He also had some insane fast runs on short courses at The Woodlands' Friday Night Lights and the blazing fast California Woodbridge Cross Country Classic meet.
Woolsey was instrumental in helping Cedar Park get back to the UIL 5A state meet as a team where he busted a 16:11.88 for 67th place. On the track, he showed off his speed by PRing with his 4:38.27 and two 9:48.03 PRs during the track season.
Last week at the Southlake Carroll Time Trial Woolsey improved his 1600m PR by going 4:37.27 on base training. Coach Edwards one more year with Woolsey and it should be a good one.
