Anthony Meacham interview after breaking 2A record
Anthony Meacham of Woodsboro won the 2A boys pole vault Friday morning after clearing 17-0. The mark also set a new 2A boys state record. Coming into the state meet, Meacham said confidence was very important going in to his first couple attempts.
"The more confidence I had, the better I was off," Meacham said. "I didn't have a lot of confidence coming in. We had some new poles and I did a couple runs but I eventually I had all the confidence in the world."
Meacham previously cleared 16-8 at the Region 4-2A Meet. Friday's mark was a season best for Meacham, who was just short of his PR of 17-2.75.
