There was a steady pace through the first 400 with Isabel Conde De Frankenberg a freshman from Cedar Park going 1:14.41, Cameron Fawcett a senior from Dallas Highland Park going 1:14.44 and Colleen Stegmann a senior from Frisco Reedy with a time of 1:14.69. This trio maintained a good pace and began to distance themselves from the pack through the first three laps.
De Frankenberg has the fastest seed time for this race with a time of 10:34. It was a very quick opening 800 for these ladies. Allie Love from Colleyville Heritage led the chase pack trying to catch up with the stealthy trio of leaders.
After 4 laps, De Frankenberg and Fawcett opened up quite an impressive lead on the rest of the pack around the 5:07 mark. On the backstretch, De Frankenberg started opening up the gap with second place. Fawcett kept hanging on not wanting to relinquish that gold medal just yet.
With two laps left, De Frankenberg started opening up her lead over Fawcett. She gradually started to pick up her pace so that she didn't have to rely on a strong kick at the end.
Entering the bell lap, De Frankenberg continued the pursuit of her first gold medal while Allie Love of Colleyville Heritage chased down Fawcett to grab the silver medal spot. De Frankenberg captured the gold with a phenomenal time of 10:26.49, Love won 2nd with a time of 10:34.98, and Maddie Livingston of Dripping Springs won the bronze with a time of 10:45.15.
